I have 9 years of experience, Initially, I was working as a QA manual but recently I started working as SDET, and believe me it was not easy to transition for someone who is far away from the coding world.
I know how much it takes to get upskilled and to become interview ready.
I went through a lot of youtube channels and Udemy courses to learn Selenium, Java and after getting enough confidence I started attending interviews but used to get failed because of lack of interview preparation then another couple of months prepared interview questions by visiting blogs and youtube channels.
Literally, the process was cumbersome but it motivated me to write a blog to bridge the gap which I faced during my job search.
Some important tips:
1. Belief in yourself and in your abilities. You may be jobless but you are not worthless.
2. Focus on what you can change. Update your resume. Do courses online. Keep learning. Keep growing.
3. Don't feel shy to contact friends or colleagues. Network. Refresh your connections.
4. Volunteer - not only will it help others, but it will also fill in the employment gap.
5. Speak positive words over your life. Visualize yourself in that position. Your time will come.
6. Keep your CV and LinkedIn profile updated. Use LinkedIn as your Networking tool to achieve new heights in your career.
